Ashley is one of my 2009 Senior Models, these are from her latest and sadly last session with me. She is SO fun to photograph… I am going to miss having her as a model!! 
On the bright side, on this shoot Ashley brought along her friend Molly who has a applied to be a 2010 Senior Model for me!! Yay!!! 
This first photo is probably my favorite from the whole day!
we were going for a bit of an editorial feel with this one… LOVE IT!!!
I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! I spent mine interviewing High School Juniors to see who gets to be a part of our Senior Model program next year, I have some great applicants so it will be hard to choose! Stay tuned for the big announcement at the end of the week!
Well, it is Wednesday again and I have to say that I am amazed that I remembered to post this for you! Something like this would be perfect for outdoor family portraits. Notice how everyone coordinates but they are not matchy matchy? that is the perfect look.

These babies are so cute! and at the age were photographing them is pretty much like herding cats! However, their mom is one of the most relaxed moms that I have had the pleasure of working with so our sessions are always fun. The highlight of Saturday’s session had to be when Kael took a header into the river! yeah… he was only under for about 3 seconds before mom fished him out but it was a long three seconds for me! He of course seemed none the worse for it. These three may have “shared a room” at one point but they have very different personalities and each time I photograph them they seem to have developed a little bit more individuality.
This has been on my “list” for the past month or so… but you know how that goes! One of the most frequent questions that I hear after someone books a session is “so what do we wear?” I love hearing that question because it lets me know that your portraits are important to you, and quite honestly the first step to amazing portraits is to arrive in a outfits that co-ordinate, are clean, and with hair that is brushed!
A group of other professional photographers and I have begun working together to come up with some clothing suggestions to post once a week. Everything I share can be found online or in stores but don’t feel like you have to buy new outfits… this is just meant as a guide, you may have similar things right in your closet! So, for the next few weeks… or as long as I can keep up with it… every Wednesday I will be posting some sample outfits to help you get the idea of what I mean when I say “outfits that match, but not necessarily matchy matchy”. Today’s outfits can all be found at GAP Kids.
This past Saturday was Roseburg High School’s senior prom. Last year I was able to take a bunch of prom photos for my senior models and their buddies at the park before prom, unfortunately this year I was already booked with another client. However, one of my senior models and her friends had to go to the prom late so I was able to do a quick session for them in the studio. These girls have been “besties” since they were in grade school, don’t they all look gorgeous! love the “photo-booth” photos in the filmstrip! that was so fun to shoot!
As an aside to readers that are “old” like me… today is “senior skip day” at the high school… do you remember what YOU did on that day? For non-locals, “senior skip day” is basically a semi school sanctioned day for seniors to blow off classes…
Annie is one of my 2009 senior models and she is SO sweet! I just “heart” her! Technically she was finished with all of her sessions but she and her mom decided to pay for a little mini session in the spring sunshine, and I am SO glad that they did. We had a great time, and got some really cute shots. Of course these are two of my favorites, the laughing one is just “so Annie”… just makes me smile to see it!
This was definitely a case of “third time’s the charm” … and it was worth the wait. We had beautiful sunny weather for this session, unlike the nasty rainy weather on our first and second scheduled appointments. This day couldn’t have been more perfect!
