Poor Candice and Josh had been trying to have their portraits taken together since December! Can you believe it? We really wanted to do the portraits at their home on the river because it is SO pretty but the weather and work schedule’s gave us quite a hard time making it a reality! However, we all agreed that it was well worth the wait, and summer weather definitely showcased their property much better.

Engagement sessions are so much fun, and a great way to connect with my wedding couples on a low stress day. James and Marissa are so comfortable together it was easy to get lots of fabulous photos of them together. I can’t wait until their wedding… there is talk of some photos in the river! yay for adventuresome couples!

Oh… I am sure you can guess one of the reasons that I love this couple… because they are Duck Fans!!! They are also just super fun! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in June! I love engagement sessions in general but this one was super fun! We started with some fun urban shots and then finished in a field of daisies! Has anyone else noticed the abundance of daisies this year? It must have something to do with the wet spring, in any case it was a great field! Here are some of my favorites from our session.

Sarah and Andy have a very hectic schedule, combine that with our very wet spring and you have a recipe for a lot of rescheduled sessions! They have just one day a week where they are both off of work and week after week that would be the day that it rained. Even the day we finally had our session we had to push the appointment out a few hours because our first time slot the skies opened up and rained giant hail down on us! But at long last we had some sunshine and got some super cute portraits for them to announce their engagement with.

Another high school senior making me feel old! I remember this handsome boy from when he was about 5, and here he is graduating from high school! We took advantage of one of our rare sunny days for his session and had a blast… even included his girlfriend Shay in some photos… I “heart” the black and white shot of them… so cute!

We had a fabulous location for this engagement session! Although the bride and groom are going to be married at Melrose Vineyards this summer, the folks at Reustle – Prayer Rock Vineyards were kind enough to let us use their vineyards for the engagement session… I sense a theme with this couple! The light was beautiful on this morning, and not too hot… although by the end when we were hiking up a giant hill it did seem a tad warm! I loved that Laura brought both dressy and casual outfits, it worked perfectly with the setting. I can’t wait for this wedding!

yep… it is that time of year… WEDDING season! Most of my wedding collections include an engagement session. Engagement sessions, in my opinion, are super important. The main reason is that they are the best way for the bride and groom and I to get to know each other. It is … well … shall we say… a bit more relaxed than the wedding day, so it is the perfect time for us to get comfortable with each other, and for them to become more comfortable being photographed. It is also just darn fun! Amanda and George will be my first wedding this summer and I can’t wait! Here are just a few to hold them over until our ordering appointment!
