What a fun session this was. Both Kayla and Jerime grew up in the Douglas County area and now live in Las Vegas, so when they were home for a visit Kayla’s mom scheduled a family portrait session for them. Their little guy, Damon, is just so cute! Kayla is a hair stylist so of course his hair was perfect for his session! I asked them to bring a quilt so that we could sit in the grass which was slightly damp and I fell in LOVE with the one that they brought! I am now on the hunt for a similar one to keep on hand, so if you see one please let me know.  Here are just a few of my favorites from their session…

Gotta love the Hult family! We had a great time during their session, after we got past the fact that poor misguided Chris is an Oregon State fan and I am a University of Oregon fan that is.

So many times mothers are the ones behind the camera in the family photos. I love that this mom took the time to schedule a portrait session for herself and her son so that she could be in front of the lens! What a great age to capture a few shots of him by himself too. The tween years are great years for a photo session… not quite a teenager, but definitely NOT a little kid either!

These three kids were a hoot! Zachery had quite the collection of turkey feathers before we were finished with their session… he spent is “non-collecting time” in the trees…  meanwhile Madison was honing her bird stalking skills! Adrianne, as is befitting of the oldest, was easy as pie!

It was so hot the day that we shot these photos… poor little Soleis was HOT! but she was a trouper. As long as we kept her in snacks and water she was happy. She loved the horses too… will probably grow up to be a rider like her momma. Speaking of… “her momma” is this months cover mom for MOM Magazine! You might also recognize her from being on the news, Korenza Burris. She was so easy to work with and laid back it made my job super fun!

Hah! you thought I forgot about this didn’t you?! Nope… I love the colors in these outfits! This is another good example of matching but not “matchy matchy”.

I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! I spent mine interviewing High School Juniors to see who gets to be a part of our Senior Model program next year, I have some great applicants so it will be hard to choose! Stay tuned for the big announcement at the end of the week!

Well, it is Wednesday again and I have to say that I am amazed that I  remembered to post this for you! Something like this would be perfect for outdoor family portraits. Notice how everyone coordinates but they are not matchy matchy? that is the perfect look.
